Vegan, Clean & Cruelty-Free Skincare: What’s the Real Difference?
Posted by Sokun Ratana on
In the world of skincare, labels like vegan, clean, and cruelty-free are everywhere — but what do they actually mean?
Vegan: No animal-derived ingredients. That means no honey, beeswax, lanolin, or collagen. Just plant-based goodness.
Cruelty-Free: The product and its ingredients were not tested on animals at any stage. But be careful — cruelty-free doesn’t always mean vegan!
Clean: No harsh or harmful ingredients like parabens, sulfates, or synthetic fragrances. But “clean” isn’t regulated, so always check the ingredients.
These terms sound similar but aren’t the same. Want ethical skincare? Look for all three — vegan, cruelty-free, and truly clean.
